It was a great night.
Jenn and i had a discussion group together and the girls in our group were so hurt. They have been through so much.
The one girl in our group was in grade 11 (Around 16 years old). 10 years ago, her mother told her to go to bed with her clothes on. In the middle of the night her mom came and woke her up and said she was going on a trip. . . She had been in foster care since and not seen her brothers, sisters, and her mother for ten years. Because of the neglect, she developed a smoking addiction in grade 8. She also began cutting herself.
Now she is a christian and because of God she was able to quit smoking and stop cutting. Its still hard for her though because she has alot of other burdens she is dealing with.
Another girl in our group used to be into cutting. She cut about four times a day because she was bullied so bad in school. If she had not have stopped when she did, she would have died because of the excess amount of blood lost.
At the end of the night, the pastor and his wife wanted to bless our team. They donated enough for us to each have $20.00. This is such a blessing!!! They actually gave us money to spend on ourselves and not the ministry!! Its crazy how much of a pick me up $20.00 can be. Not because its money, but because these people were led out of the kindness of their heart and by God to bless our team. Very encouraging.
