I just got home from an event. It was such a crazy event. Words could not describe.
There was about 30 girls that were 7-13. They all had toonnnsss of energy.
First to start off the night, the pizza was delivered to the wrong place.. . MEANING the 100 pieces of pizza were an hour late.
There was about 3 large pillow fights, and the girls did not have an easy time concentrating lol
That being sad, I just want to say my heart was RIPPED out of my chest.
During one point in the night, the girls are supposed to write on green pieces of paper lies that they have been told or believe about themselves. One little girl who was seven wrote "I am not a good person" with a broken heart she had drawn.
This little girl was so sad and hurt and broken. I didn't know that a seven year old could carry such a burden. This little girl that is only one year older than Hudson has been deprived of her true childhood. Its hard sometimes to think that God can let people go through such crazy situations.
It turns out that her and her two sisters and 3 brothers all live with their mom. Their mom is not only physically disabled but also she is mentally disabled. These children basically have raised themselves.
Why does God allow us to go through times like this?
Is it so that we can learn and grow?
"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
God gave man free will and dominion over the earth.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, when we're praying we're, "giving God permission" to interfere with what's happening in our domain.
Obviously God can do whatever he wants because he created everything, but God also sticks to his promises, and allows us to use the free will and dominion we have been given over the earth. Everything that God is, "letting" happen is partially only happening because he's sticking to his word.
Instead of asking why these things happen, we need to instead set our hearts on helping as many as we can and letting them know that they are loved beyond their wildest dreams.
Just sayin :)
